Our Substation Pre-Commissioning & Testing Service

Substation equipment can become damaged in transit and during the installation phase. DNOs and IDNOs therefore require rigorous testing of new substation plant and equipment to ensure the equipment is safe to operate, fit for purpose and ready to be put into service.

OUR SERVICE

At UES, we have the in-house capability to test all types of substation equipment, from unit transformer arrangements through to multi-panel switch-boards. All testing is carried out in full compliance with each DNO/IDNO’s specific testing regimes. We carry out substation pre-commissioning testing throughout the UK, on a range of substation projects.

Our test equipment is calibrated annually in accordance with our NERS accredited calibration procedures.

Test results are recorded using specific DNO/IDNO templates for contestable projects.

For privately owned HV/LV networks, test results are recorded onto our bespoke asset management database and follow the rigorous testing regimes of the UK electricity industry.
