UESL has helped a number of Utility Connection Providers (UCP) obtain accreditation for the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS), administered by Lloyds.

We develop a robust Safety Management System (SMS) that is specific to and geared towards the day to day operation of the UCP’s business. The SMS is a fundamental aspect of the NERS procedures and by capitalising on our in-depth knowledge of electrical safety systems, we develop a user friendly suite of procedures that satisfy all aspects of the SMS requirements. Our SMS also satisfies the NERS requirements for live low voltage cable jointing.

UESL can also provide an Assessing Officer function if the UCP does not have a suitably qualified in-house electrical engineer.

We are able to develop work systems and procedures that meet the requirements of each module of NERS, from low voltage cable installation up to and including 132kV substation installation. We can also help UCPs in obtaining a limited NERS scope pertaining to network design and project management.

Once a UCP has obtained NERS accreditation it just doesn’t stop there. There is also an obligation for the UCP to maintain and update NERS procedures
